NEET 2023 Exam: NEET (National Eligibility
cum Entrance Test) is a pen-and-paper medical entrance test conducted by
National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS, BDS. It is an all-India pre-medical test which was formerly

National Testing Agency (NTA)has been conducting the NEET (UG) since 2019 with the approval
of the Ministry of Health and Family
Welfare and the Ministry of Education, in pursuance of the direction of the
Hon’ble Supreme Court of India.
A successful attempt at NEET enables
students to avail a seat in any of the medical programs such as MBBS, BDS, nursing, and various AYUSH
courses offered in both private and government institutes of India. NEET has
emerged as the one-tier national-level entrance test following the “One nation One test” policy that was
passed, thus scrapping all the state-level and national-level entrance tests,
including AIIMS and JIPMER tests.
What is the NEET exam 2023?
NEET 2023 exam is the qualifying
examination for medical programs (MBBS, BDS, etc.) in order for students to
pursue medicine in India and overseas
It is an offline test conducted for 720
marks covering the Class 11 and 12 syllabi
A candidate must have completed Class 12 with majors in Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology subjects.
Aspiring candidates who are 17 years of age
or shall complete 17 years before December 31st, 2023 are eligible for the NEET
exam 2023. There is no restriction on the upper age limit and the number of

NEET 2022 Synopsis
NEET 2022 was conducted on 17 July 2022 for medical aspirants in
497 Indian cities and 14 Cities Outside India. The registration process for the
same started on 6th April 2022; application
forms were released on the official website of NEET – nta.neet.nic.in. The officials announced the last date for
submission of the online application form for NEET – 20th May 2022. NEET 2022
witnessed approximately 18.7 lakh
registrations, the highest yet. The results of NEET 2022 were announced on
7th September 2022.
When will NEET 2023 be conducted?
NEET 2023 is to be held on May 7, 2023. Information bulletin to be released soon.
NEET 2023 Registration will commence with
the release of online NEET application forms for 2023. This event is most
likely to take place in the month of April

is the age requirement for the NEET 2023 examination?
Candidate has completed 17 years of age at the time of
admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of
his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate.
Aspirants must be citizens of India, Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of
Indian Origin (PIOs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs), or Foreign nationals.
What is the academic qualification for NEET 2023?
Candidates must have passed or must be
appearing in the Class 12 board examination or equivalent.
Which subjects are necessary to take up NEET?
As mentioned in the Regulations of NMC and
DCI, candidates must have passed Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and
English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics,
Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination. In
addition, one must have secured a rank in the merit list of NEET (UG) – 2023
for admission to Undergraduate Medical
Courses.
What percentage is needed in Class 12 to appear for NEET 2023 exam?
Qualifying marks for NEET 2023 – Candidates
must have secured a minimum of 50% in
Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination under the
general category. The minimum requirement is 40% for those candidates who belong to the SC, ST, and OBC-NCL categories.
What Is New in NEET 2023 exam? – Expected Changes in NEET 2023
Candidates planning to take up NEET exam in
2023 can expect a few changes in the upcoming NEET-UG exam since NTA has
introduced several changes in the past 2 years. Some changes introduced earlier
were as follows:
The overall exam duration was increased by 20 minutes in NEET 2022 to a total of
200 minutes (03:20 hours) to be held from 02:00
PM to 05:20 PM (IST).
Changes in the exam pattern with the
introduction of section A and section B
(having optional questions).
Qualifying for the NEET UG exam is a must
even for Indian candidates who desire to pursue medicine abroad.
No restriction on the number of attempts at
NEET or any upper age limit. However, minimum age limit restrictions must be
followed as per corresponding categories.
To seek admissions in AIIMS and JIPMER
institutes, qualifying for NEET is a must.
Scores of NEET shall be accepted for female
candidates who wish to pursue nursing programs at AFMS institutes.

register, go to the ‘New Registration’ tab, and provide your name, mobile
number, email id, and other details.
- Fill in

as Year of Passing, Percentage of marks, etc., contact details, and choice
for the exam center.
- Scanned
copies of required documents in the specified format must be uploaded.

How many NEET exam centers can be selected?
During the NEET 2023 registration process,
while filling out the form, candidates are provided with the option to select
four convenient cities of their choice in order of their priority as per
convenience. Candidates can select city codes of their own city or from
neighboring cities of their state of residence. Make note that one is allowed
to select cities from their state only and not out of their state of residence
or far away cities in some other state. NTA does not take charge in case of any
inconvenience caused as a result of inappropriate city code selection by
candidates.
